Die Hard is my favorite action movie (obviously) but the concept of multiple assailants taking on a lone hero in a single location is genius and therefore allows for multiple great movies with similar scenarios (although most films are just cheap imitations). Therefore, I like all the Die Hard Scenario films in their own special way, even the bad ones.
Also, I should probably mention Nothing Lasts Forever, the absolutely brilliant, dark novel that started it all. As a writer myself I hope to publish a series of DHS novels called "Security Breach" and also additional DHS titles that are darker than the conventional action film.
