The Net is a 1995 cyber action thriller film directed by Irwin Winkler and featuring Sandra Bullock, Jeremy Northam and Dennis Miller.

Plot

The film opens with United States Undersecretary of Defense Michael Bergstrom, who commits suicide after discovering that he has tested positive for HIV.

A computer programmer called Angela Bennett casually stumbles upon a conspiracy surrounding his death, putting her life and the lives of those around her in great danger. Now she has to fight for her existence and against The Praetorians, a cyber terrorist group, who are behind Michael Bergstrom´s death and who want her dead now, too.
