Laurence Fishburne (born July 30, 1961) is an Emmy-winning actor best known for his roles in films such as Apocalypse Now (with Frederic Forrest), King of New York (with Wesley Snipes), Boyz n the Hood (with Angela Bassett, Cuba Gooding Jr. and Morris Chestnut), What's Love Got to Do With It? (again with Bassett), Othello, Event Horizon (with Richard T. Jones) and The Matrix trilogy (with Keanu Reeves). Other recent films include: Akeelah and the Bee, Predators (with Danny Trejo), Contagion, Man of Steel (with Harry Lennix), Ride Along (with Bruce McGill), Rudderless and Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice. He also left lasting impressions on shows such as "Pee-wee's Playhouse", "CSI", "Hannibal" and "Black-ish".
