Judge Lex in Dredd
Judge Lex is a corrupt Judge from Mega-City One. He was portrayed in the 2012 film Dredd by South African actor Langley Kirkwood.
History[]
Judge Lex has worked as a street judge for the Mega-City One Justice Department for over twenty years. Over this time he became dissilusioned with the city and justice system leading him to become a corrupt judge who works as a mercenary for hire for crime lords with the funds to purchase his services. His price is one million split four ways with the other Judges, Chan, Alvarez and Kaplan.
One day Ma-Ma bribes Lex and other corrupt judges Alvarez, Chan and Kaplan to kill the renown Judge Dredd. Their cover was blown when Chan attacks, and is killed by, Dredd. Dredd then kills Alvarez but runs out of ammunition, and Lex shoots him in the torso through a wall with armor piercing ammunition. Lex moves in to execute Dredd, but Dredd stalls him long enough for Anderson to arrive and kill Lex first by shooting him in the back multiple times with an MP5 submachine gun.
Out of all the Judges, Lex was the only one who came close to killing Dredd.
Trivia[]
- Judge Lex ordered Ma-Ma to kill Judge Anderson as soon as possible. Had Ma-Ma actually succeeded, Judge Lex would have lived and killed Judge Dredd.
- Although he seemed to be the leader of the gang of corrupt Judges, Lex didn't care about them at all. After Dredd informed Lex that he had killed both Chan and Alvarez, Lex only says that it suits him, revealing that his only concern is more money for himself.
