Colm Meaney (born May 30, 1953) is an Irish actor best known for portraying Chief Miles O'Brien on the "Star Trek" spin-offs "The Next Generation" and "Deep Space Nine" (with Alexander Siddig). Film appearances include: The Last of the Mohicans, Layer Cake (with Daniel Craig and Tom Hardy), The Damned United, Law Abiding Citizen (with Gerard Butler, Jamie Foxx and Michael Irby) and Soldiers of Fortune (with Ving Rhames, Sean Bean and Christian Slater). He currently stars on the AMC cable TV series "Hell on Wheels".
He appeared in three different Die Hard scenario films: Die Hard 2, Under Siege and Con Air. He has guest-starred and had recurring roles on "The Unit", "Stargate: Atlantis" and "Men in Trees".
